- Initial Planning Meeting Our journey begins with a celebratory initial meeting where we formally connect and celebrate the beginning of our partnership. This meeting is designed to delve into your current planning status and aspirations for your big day. Whether you're starting from scratch or have already chosen a venue and date, we are here to listen to your dreams, concerns, likes, dislikes, must-haves, and priorities.
- Venue Scouting + Booking Following our initial meeting, we embark on the exciting task of finding the perfect venue that aligns with your aesthetic preferences, guest count, and budget. We provide you with a curated list of options and offer the option of accompanying you on venue visits to provide guidance on what to look for and questions to ask.
- Planning + Design Questionnaire Once your venue is secured, we dive deeper into your wedding vision through a detailed Planning + Design questionnaire. This step allows us to understand your preferences for each wedding event space within the venue, such as the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception, and dancing areas, as well as any other specific requests or ideas you may have.
- Discovery Meeting In our subsequent meeting, we review your completed Planning + Design questionnaire together. This is a crucial step where we ask thorough, clarifying questions to ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of your design vision and requirements for vendors.
- Receive + Review Your Proposed Design Deck Next, you will receive your personalized design deck—a cohesive presentation of your selected color palette, visual mood boards for each wedding space, proposed rental items, and other design elements. Your feedback is integral at this stage as we aim to finalize a design plan that resonates with your wedding's overall aesthetic.
- Receive + Review Your Proposed Vendors We then present you with a carefully curated list of vendors tailored to your preferences. You have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on these recommendations, and we assist in coordinating meetings with potential vendors, reviewing contracts, and managing the vendor team throughout the planning process.
- Receive + Review Your Preliminary Documents As we progress, you will receive preliminary documents containing essential details such as vendor contacts, day-of timelines, rental inventories, ceremony and reception layouts, budget tracking spreadsheets, seating assignments, and menu selections. Your input ensures that every detail is meticulously planned and documented.
- Fine-Tune All Details As the wedding date approaches, we fine-tune all documents based on your confirmed guest count and finalize any custom items or special orders. This phase also involves finalizing food and beverage selections and resolving any outstanding decisions to ensure a seamless execution.
- Receive + Review Your Finalized Documents You will receive finalized documents encompassing all planning details, including vendor contacts, day-of timelines, rental inventories, layouts, budget tracking, seating arrangements, and menu selections. With your approval, these documents are communicated to your wedding professionals, streamlining communication and ensuring a stress-free experience in the final weeks leading up to your wedding day.
- Event Management On your wedding day, the Genisis Events team is dedicated to overseeing all logistics and ensuring everything runs smoothly. We serve as the point of contact for all vendors, ensuring they adhere to the schedule and that you and your guests enjoy a flawless and memorable experience.

HOW LONG IS THE EXPERIENCE?
The wedding planning experience generally spans 6 months to 12 months, depending on factors like venue availability, vendor selection, and the complexity of the event. Couples often start planning well in advance to secure their preferred vendors and ensure a seamless and personalized celebration. Wedding coordination begins promptly 3 months before your wedding.

DO YOU HAVE PREFFERED VENDORS?
While we do maintain a list of preferred vendors based on their reliability and excellence, we operate on a strictly non-commission basis. This ensures that our recommendations are always based solely on what best suits your preferences and needs, without any bias or financial incentive influencing our choices. Our priority is to create an exceptional and personalized experience tailored specifically to your vision and expectations.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY HOURS WE HAVE YOU?
Typically I am available anywhere from 5-12 hours this depends on the event and needs. Genisis Events is available for your needs. Our general rule-of-thumb is to be on-site before and after other vendors to ensure all deliveries and pickups happen accordingly.
WILL YOU BE EATING AND DRINKNG AT THE RECEPTION?
Given the long hours and intensive work involved in managing your event, we kindly request that a hot meal be provided for our team. This ensures we can maintain our energy levels and continue to provide top-notch service throughout the day.
Our professional standards prohibit our team from consuming alcohol during your event. Our focus remains entirely on ensuring every detail of your wedding day is executed to perfection.
HOW MUCH DO YOUR CLIENTS WEDDINGS TYPICALLY COST?
Your personal wedding budget is highly dependent on your wedding location, how many guests you invite and which services you hire.
DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF STEILACOOM FOR WEDINGS?
We are thrilled to offer our wedding planning services across a wide range of locations. We service areas typically within a 40 mile radius of Tacoma, WA. Some locations and some further distances/ some areas over the bridge may involve additional travel costs.
CAN WE HIRE GENISIS EVENTS JUST FOR OUR ACTUAL WEDDING DAY?
Genisis Events is available for "day-of" coordination services. This option is ideal for couples who have handled most of the planning themselves but want a professional to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the wedding day itself. Day-of coordinating will step in about a month before the wedding to finalize details, create a timeline, coordinate with vendors, and manage the logistics on the wedding day, allowing the couple to relax and enjoy their special day without stress.
